After four days of sun and crowds, the 30th edition of the Pierra Menta in Areches-Beaufort has come to an end, with Damiano Lenzi & Matteo Eydallin, Italy and Severine Pomt Combe & Jennifer Fiechter, Switzerland winning the first ISMF Long Distance Team World Cup.

The Italians, overall winners of the race, lost the final leg to the French team comprised of William Bon Mardion and Xavier Gachet (2:27.10), however Lenzi and Eydallin have shown that they are the strongest team out there, winning the Pierra Menta last year as well as the recent World Championships in Verbier. The 5000 strong crowd on the Grand Mont was there to applaud all the athletes, including another Italian team, Michele Boscacci & Roberto Antonioli who came in third place. The top 3 Grande Course rankings also reflecting the ISMF Long Distance Team Cup placings.
In this first event of La Grande Course, the women’s race was won by Laetitia Roux & Mireia Miro, followed by Axelle Mollaret & Emelie Forsberg, however the winner of the ISMF Long Distance Team event was the Swiss National team comprised of Severine Pont Combe & Jennifer Fiechter ( 3rd in La Grande Course ranking) , with the silver medal for Italians, Martina Valmassoi Katia Tomatis, and with Marta Riba and Clร udia Galicia Cotrina, Spain claiming the bronze.
