The third trial of the Scarpa ISMF World Cup circuit kicks off on Friday. A Sprint Race and an Individual Race are in the Val Comelico-Sappada (Italy) programme. It will be possible to watch the Sprint Race in streaming. The sponsors of the World Cup have produced a technical sweatshirt.

A little less than 24 hours to go until the first trial of the third stage of the World Cup, which will be held in Val Comelico-Sappada (Italy). On Friday morning the best athletes in the world will compete in the spectacular Sprint Race, a very short, technical race which will have the public – watching  all the stages of the race from the start/finish area – holding their breath. The location that will host the Sprint is the “Black Piste”, a few metres from the centre of Sappada (Belluno – Italy).
At 9 am the qualifying stages will start, while the finals will begin at about 11 am.
On Saturday morning athletes and assistants will go to Sega Digon (Val Comelico) to compete in the Individual Race. The snowfalls of the last few days are putting us to the test and have not allowed the organizers to set up the traditional route of the Pitturina scheduled for Friday morning. More than 4 metres of snow at high altitude and the danger of avalanches fixed at 4 for some days, when the highest is 5, are unequivocal reasons to look for an alternative route. The new route will have an altitude gain of about 1,700 metres.
As regards the provisional ranking of the World Cup the Italian Robert Antonioli is on the top step of the podium both in the ranking of the specialist Individual Race with 180 points and in the Overall classification with 310 points. Whereas Damiano Lenzi leads in the Vertical classification (180 points) and is second in the Overall classification. Again in the Overall classification, the Frenchman Matheo Jacquemoud is in third position (211 points). In the rankings of the specialist “individual” section, in addition to Antonioli there are, respectively, Alexis Sevennec (120 points), second, and William Bon Bardion third with 105 points.
In the Vertical climb classification, on the two lower steps of the podium are Matheo Jacquemoud (second) and Robert Antonioli (third).
Laetitia Roux, undisputed ruler in this first part of the season, is in first place in all three classifications: Vertical, Individual, and Overall. Behind her in the Vertical Race and in the Overall classification is the Swiss woman Maude Mathis, and Sophie Dusautoir Bertrand. In second place in the Individual classification is Sophie Dusautoir Bertrand, while in third place we have the young Frenchwoman Axele Mollaret.
Video streaming will begin at 9 am on the Pitturina website www.lapitturina.it and on the website www.ismfskievents.com

Sweatshirt World Cup Ski mountaineering

On the occasion of the Pitturina Ski Race, the new sweatshirt made exclusively for the Scarpa ISMF World Cup circuit will début, thanks to a joint marketing campaign between the three companies that are sponsoring the circuit. Polartec, Montura and Scarpa have given life to this project by producing an article of clothing made of a technical fabric called Polartecr® Power Stretch® Pro with extraordinary thermal insulation properties, capable of providing maximum breathability, comfort and lightness. The product is the result of painstaking ergonomic studies to ensure maximum freedom of movement, thanks to the structure of two 4 Way Stretch fabrics.

This article of clothing is particularly suitable for ski mountaineering given that the technical construction of the fabric makes it easy to absorb the water vapour created by the body during physical activity, keeping the skin dry while it is sweating and thus ensuring an ideal body temperature. This exclusive product, made in two colours, green and blue, is particularly soft on the skin, easy care,  resistant to wear and anti-pilling.

The article has a retail value of €130 and will be available exclusively at the next three stages of the World Cup, Pitturina Ski Race (Italy), Les Diableretes (Switzerland) and Tromso (Norway) at the special price of €50. This is another investment made by the sponsors, a further contribution to getting the discipline off the ground. In fact, the proceeds will be entirely invested in enhancing the advertising and marketing activities of the World Cup.

This is the result of a partnership that goes beyond simple sponsorship, it is a question of passion, of believing in a discipline, of investing and supporting it in reaching its goals.

Video streaming will begin at 9 am on the Pitturina website www.lapitturina.it website and on the website www.ismfskievents.com
