On Saturday and Sunday the second Scarpa ISMF World Cup circuit trial will take place at Courchevel on French snow. The two trials: the Vertical Race and the Individual Race.

The Scarpa ISMF World Cup circuit, after the two races contested last weekend at Verbier in Switzerland, will transfer from today to Sunday to Courchevel, part of the mythical skiing district in the “3 Vallees”.

The programme of the second trial of the World Cup will begin on Friday afternoon at 16.30 when at the Courchevel Forum the opening ceremony with the assignment of the bibs to the best athletes enrolled in the races will begin. At 6 pm there will be a technical briefing for the individual trial.

As regards Saturday morning, the second trial of the World Cup will start at 9 am from the “Des Sources” resort, the floral awards are planned for 10.45 when the first athletes of all the categories will have crossed the finish line.

The Individual Race has an altitude gain of 1,700 metres over 4 uphill slopes for a total distance of 14 kilometres. Three sections will be done on foot with skis in backpacks.

The Vertical Race (only uphill) will start on Sunday morning at 10 from La Praz at 1,300 metres above sea level and has 500 metres and 600 metres of altitude gain depending on the categories, the length of the route is 3.2 kilometres.

The provisional overall classification of the World Cup sees the Spaniard Kilian Jornet Burgada leading with 160 points, in second place is Robert Antonioli with 130 points, and behind him the other Italian Damiano Lenzi with 125 points. In the women’s category Laetita Roux dominates with 200 points, ahead of Maude Mathys (160 points) and the young French woman Axelle Mollaret (110 points).

In the Vertical Race special specialty classification, Matheo Jacquemoud leads, followed by Damiano Lenzi and Kilian. Of the women, Laetitia Roux leads, while the two Swiss women Mathys and Kreuzer are second and third respectively.

In the Individual Race classification, Kilian is on the provisional podium with Robert Antonioli and Bon Mardion behind him. Of the women, Laetitia Roux confirms her leadership, followed by Mathys and Mollaret.
